We FINALLY have a place

Well, Mel and I got offered and took a place today. It's in a basement again (but cheaper than what I'm paying now) and it's only a 1-2 minute walk to Broadway so when I move offices I only have to go a short distance to catch the bus to work. It's also really close to Commercial drive and skytrain station. It's brilliant and about time. I'm stoked, Mel's stoked and now we can have a place that is ours, and I feel at home in enough to invite people around for a party/poker.

Home hunting

I suppose you could say that the most frustrating thing I've done all month is to house hunt, and still come up empty handed at the end of the month without a proper place to move into. A friend has said that I can stay with him until I can find a place to stay.

Actually the most frustrating thing about it all, is that this is pretty much all I have done for the last month is look at places to rent and still come up empty handed. So not only have I not been able to do anything that I have really wanted to do, including going up the mountains for my first snowboarding lesson, I have yet to find a place to move into and I only have 6 days left before leaving this place to live elsewhere. Hmmmm any ideas anyone??? I am now to a point where I didn't really want to be, but I do not any longer have much of a hope of anything else so I will have to resort to plan B & C to find a place to live and find out which one works the best.

Work Parties

Well I ended up at a work after holidays party last night. Was an interesting affair, I think I got to know more people from the mainframe side of the business than the Rainmaker side (which maybe a good thing as I am suppost to be moving over that way at some point in time).

Anyway there's a lot of people who work at the 2 places (turn out was somewhere in the vacinity of between 400-500 people at a guess). And that is not everyone who works there. Then I woke up this morning to find that it was raining outside again - Yesterday was such a lovely day nice and sunny while I was catching up with Kyle I was sitting on a chair without my jacket on, and it was so nice. I can't wait or more of it. I guess after -7c +10c feels a lot warmer.

Snowing

Well, I woke up this morning looked out the window and saw that it was snowing again (this is the third time that it has snowed while I've been in Vancouver - and it is entirely not a usual occurrence for Vancouver - however some people I talk to say the second time really wasn't proper snow but what do I care it's snow no matter how crappy it is it's still snow).

Anyway it's so nice and at least this time I had my boot's on so my feet didn't get soaked and frozen like on friday when it snowed last time. I may try to get some photo's but it may not happen either. Either way if I was going snowboarding this weekend (which I'm not because I'm looking for a place to move into) then it would definately be worth it. Oh well another day I guess.
