Week's Ending 26th April & 3rd May

Monday 20th April:
The start of an eventfully week. Started with working during the day, then in the evening as I was getting my lunch ready for the next day I sliced part of the top off my finger. This ended up resulting in me catching a taxi to the hospital because it wouldn't stop bleeding after an hour or so. Got berrated at the hospital by the nurse for not being registered with a doctor over here in the UK.

Tuesday 21st April:
Work

Wednesday 22nd April:
Work, followed by a trip to the NHS walk-in centre to get the dressing on my finger changed and my finger looked at - Doctor was ok, althought a little abrupt - probably because I rocked up after they had closed the reception, but she still squeezed me in to get the finger looked at and dressing changed - she also partially berrated me for not having a doctor in the UK.

Thursday 23rd April:
Work

Friday 24th April:
Work, then followed be another trip to the NHS walk-in to get the dressing changed again and finger looked at - much niced doctor this time. Also had a call from the agent who put me forward for the role with BAE up in Scotland with the bad news that I didn't get through but no-one else did either as the manager now has rehashed the requirement specs and want's someone with a prior practice background/experience. Followed that by a night spent at the local and a call with my mum and dad.

Saturday 25th April:
Usual Saturday thing, went food shopping followed by a day spent at the hostel uploading photo's and downloading programs.

Sunday 26th April:
Off to the supermarket to get my weekly shopping done, this was followed by a trip into the city to get my finger checked for the second to last time and a quick bit of small shopping. Then got home and watch the F1 race.
When I was coming home there were a bunch of cops near my flat. As I went down to feed the ducks there were 3 of them at the canal, stopping people from going in one direction. Got to talking to them for a bit before heading off in the opposite direction to feed the ducks. Went down later again to feed the ducks the last of the bread and ended up chatting to another cop down there for about 15-20 mintues (as always they were unable to tell me what was happening) found out later on the Birmingham news site that there was a guy (who had apparently been kidnapped) then bound and had canister strapped to his body - so alleged bomb threat - and this was all happening withinabout 500-600 meters of my house. Excitement for the week for that one.

Monday 27th April:
Work

Tuesday 28th April:
Work

Wednesday 29th April:
Work and final trip to the doctors about my finger - it's getting better just raw skin at the moment.

Thursday 30th April:
Work

Friday 1st May:
Work and more work.

Saturday 2nd May:
Took the day out to Shrewsbury - nice little quaint town where Darwin was born. Not a bad little town surrounded by water - althought it must be the hangout place for Emo's and Goth's because there were a lot of them just milling around in the city centre.
When I was catching the train back to Birmingham I ended up picking the wrong train and ended up going in the wrok direction to Gobowen, where I had to get off and catch the train going back the other way to Shrewsbury. Saturday night was quiet.

Sunday 3rd May:
Went to Chruch then bought a new book on the way home. From there I went up to Morrisons to do a weekly shop and then followed by a quick feed of the ducks (they weren't very hungry). The afternoon afterwards was very quiet which was nice.

Week Ending 19th April

Monday 13th April:
Last day in Dublin, work up at the Hostel after a quiet night the night before. Caught the bus back to Dublin airport and then flew out back to Birmingham. Got back to Birmingham where I got home then had to go out and do food shopping for the week ahead, had another chat to my new downstairs neightbour's who moved in over the weekend (have yet to see them again though).

Tuesday 14th April:
Back at work.

Tuesday 7th April:

Wednesday 8th April:

Thursday 9th April:

Friday 10th April:
Easter Frideay - went to the hostel to download TV programs and upload photos. Including talking to Mum and Dad and Vanessa which was nice.
Followed that by heading home to clean the house before going away for the weekend to Dublin.

Saturday 11th April:
Up at 5am to catch my flight Dublin for the weekend. Flight to Dublin was very uneventful, landed on time and made my way to the hostel where I left my bag for the day.
From there I walked out onto O'Connell Street to catch the Dublin Tour bus where I got to be classes as a student. Jumped on the bus and allowed it to take me around the city. Got off at the 2 Cathedrals and paid and went inside the St Pat's Cathedral as well as walking the St. Pat's gardens.
Followed by a nice sit in the park followed by a stroll along the Liffey back to the Hostel to book in.
Met a Canadian fella got chatting as well as some French guys and an American girl. Went to a local pub to have some Irish Stew and Guinness.
At night went out with a group of Italian, French and Americans to a couple of local clubs and bars in the Temple Bar district. Ended up back at a bar near the hostel where a guy was playing an live acoustic covers set - lotsa fun, but expensive beer.

Sunday 12th April:
Woke up to a bathroom that was semi flooded by someone in the room.
Then after breakfast went for a walk along the Liffey to the Guinness factory.
Near the top of the Guinness storehouse I got to do a pull oyour own pint. Met 3 Malayasia girls who were pulling at the same time as me. While sitting down 4 seat near me become free where the Malayasia girls sat into, we got talking and as it turned out, one of the girls brother works as an Accountant in Adelaide and the 3 of them are studying in Birmingham.
Anyway as they were getting up to leave 1 of them had only had about 2 sips from here Guinness so I took it from here and finished it - so in the end instead of the standard 1 pint I got 2 at the storehouse.
I followed this by walking back throught the side streets to Graffton street and the park's in Dublin.
Eventually went back to the hostel then out for a pizza dinner then followed a walk along the Liffey, by then it was bed time.
