Soccer

Ok so last week was our first true win of the season, we had won once before due to default (the other team only had 6 players instead of the required 7). But this week being the final week was a little different. Every other week we have had a game consisting of 2 25min halves. This week being the final week. it was set out as a tournament - 2 games 25 minutes in length each. Well only 3 teams rocked up - meaning that the team that we were suppost to play in the finals didn't turn up and so defaulted and we were automatically entered into the final match (bonus for us as we were fresh for the game compared to the other team who had just played a 25 minute full on game of soccer).

So in the end we won the final game of the season and came off the season champions (having won only two games in our whole season) - the other odd thing was the fact that the two teams in the final match were actually the two teams that were on the bottom of the ladder leading into this weeks match (go figure hey!!). So what did this mean you ask? Well it just meant that each member of our team received a Urban Recs season champions T-Shirt. Well I'm pretty stocked about it like most of the team as well were.

So yea go team!!!! (BTW our team name was the ANZAC's - standing for the Australian's (2 of us) New Zealanders (2 players ) and Canadians (the rest of the team) - less the ring-in's who varied from where they were from.

Toronto, Toronto, Toronto

Well ain't Toronto lovely. I went off to Canada's Wonderland yesterday (BTW it was father's day over here) so it was a little packed, however the actual park also has a water park component to it aswell, so it was nice and warm and so most of the people were in the water park section (which was good for me as it meant less people in the line ups for the rides). With less people in the line ups meant that I was able to jump on most of the rides without having to wait. My longest waiting time in a line up was about 30 min's - which was brilliant. So I spent most of the day just wandering around the Wonderland and riding the rides.

Best of all yesterday Roe texted me to say she was in town for a bit on her way down to her works head office - just south of Toronto. So we met up and went out to breakfast, which was great to see a familiar face for a change.

Montreal - Toronto (TDot)

Had a nice few days in Montreal, and I was starting to get use to the humidity that I was getting over there. On Tuesday I went with a few people I had met at the hostel and went back to LaRonde (the amusement park) and had a great full day just riding rides and hanging out. Went for a few beers after and enjoyed the time. Wednesday I headed off to the Montreal Casino.

Thursday I work up early for a 6.50am train ride to Toronto, got in and walked to the hostel - I was utterly tired and so walked around for a couple of hours before heading back and snoozing for a few hours. I then headed out to the CN Tower - it was quite a nice view and I got there at a time where I could get the day time view and the nighttime view of the city. (The photo's are starting to stack up a bit).

Friday (yesterday) I headed down to Niagra Falls on a Moose tour bus - met again some nice people and enjoy the day down there, we went to a winery that is famous for it's icewine (very sweet but quite tastie). Niagra was interesting, although very touristy but enjoyed the time there - even went to the Niagra Casino while we were there with a few of the other people on the tour. Our tour guide even let us stay for the fire works display before we headed back to Toronto, and a few beers as the backpakers joint the bus parks at.

Today I'm off to try and see a baseball game (should be interesting but enjoyable I figure).

Montreal

Well I arrived into Montreal after a pretty none eventful flight from Vancouver at 10pm. Travelled via bus to the central station then got a shuttle which dropped me off right out the front door of the hostel which I am staying at last night(Thursday night), and tonight (Friday night) only to find that I was only booked in for one night. The guy on reception was good and has found a bed for me tonight though. I can't say that it is overly hot here at the moment - it is definately warm and very humid which is a bit of a pain really (only got about 4hrs sleep on Thursday night).

Had a nice trip up to Mount Royal in the morning then just walked around for a while before making my way over to the island where the GP is on. Unfortunately it is completely sold out so I will miss seeing it. Although I will get to hear the action.

Saturday - I went to Le Ronde (amusement park) today, and spent the day there. It was fun and I will go back again probably on Monday. Again (as seems to becoming a habit of mine) I lost my hat - this time I was coming down on of the rides (the log ride/Pitoune) and my hat flew off in the wind - was quite funny seeing the photo as in it you can see the moment that my hat flew off my head). Luckily though about 7 hours later when I went back at closing time it had been recovered and so I was a happy man being reunited with my hat (sorry I have become kinda attached to it lately).

To night is my last night with the Alternative Backpackers Hostel before moving to the othe place that I had booked - quite fortunate really to still be here as Saturday everywhere (including here) was completely booked out, but as things go people haven't rocked up or have cancelled and so now I have a bed for the night.

Tomorrow is another day and I have yet to figure out what to do for it, but I am sure it will probably end up on here for you all to see.
