Seattle
Well, I just got back from a nice 3nights 3 days in Seattle, and I had a great time. Got to stay with a friend of a friend (Rachel who is Georgie's friend) which was heaps kewl, and was muchly appreciated. I got to met some cool people down there, some of Rachel's friends and some other just random people around the place.
I left Saturday night from Vancouver via Amtrak Train and got into Seattle at just after 10pm - it was a really nice ride and I got too see some awesome scenery, customs was easy to get through. Sunday Rachel took me down to the Pike Market, and I got to see the famous fish throwing (well famous to the extend that it is known by people out here), then went on the underground tour of Seattle - interesting to say the least and I got a great guide who gave quite a bit of information - including addition info - he was quite the character.
Monday I went to Seattle Centre and the Space Needle (some really really nice views from up there) and the Experience Music Project - the morning was a little overcast, but it cleared up nicely for the afternoon and they whole weekend they had a folklife festival (in it's 23rd?? year). Some interesting music, and I got to lie on the grass for the rest of the afternoon listen some good music and just relaxing. After which I went back to Rachel's place and sat and watch TV - exciting I know, but something I rarely do in Vancouver (as I have no TV).
Tuesday, was again another great day nice and warm - about 25c. I took a ride on the monorail - only cost $2 and worth the I did it factor - a bit like the space needle. Then I spent the rest of the day wandering Seattle, the waterfront then the Sculpture park - I again laid on the grass and got to soak up some sun - unfortunately I was burnt from Mondays session, so I probably got a bit more burnt but oh well.
Caught the bus back from Seattle to Vancouver - bus was a little late as it was waiting on a connecting train from LA (I was suppost to be getting the 9pm bus, but when I went to the station earlier in the day I was informed that the train that was connecting with that bus was going to be about 5 hours late (at a guess)). So instead I caught the 6.30pm bus - left at about 7.30. Nice sunset - on the way to the Canadian border (unable to get a decent photo of it though). Had a bit of a odd experience with the Canadian customs fella, asking me some interesting questions - ie how many days I was away, where my bag was and was that all the clothes I took - I had one mini bag as it was all I needed for a 3/4 day holiday. Other than that I was pretty uneventful.
And thus concludes my Seattle trip - now I get to bum around Vancouver for the next week before heading off to Montreal and Toronto next Thursday (7th June) - Cant wait for that.
